Arsenal have been dealt a setback in their attempt to sign Swansea duo Michu and Ashley Williams it has been reported. The Daily Mail has reported that Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has warned the Gunners that neither of his two players are for sale. Jenkins said “Nothing has changed. There has been no contact as fr as our football club is concerned in connection with anybody. And we wouldn’t welcome any bids.” He added “The overriding point from our football club is that we are not looking to sell any of our players and they are not up for sale.” The same article reveals that Arsene Wenger is hopeful of bringing both players to the Emirates and is preparing a bid of £35 million for the duo. Furthermore Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has insisted that not even a “ridiculous” offer would be enough to sign Michu at this stage of the transfer window because his side would not have enough time to bring in an adequate enough replacement.
