This looks like the day that A-Rod has officially given up being a point of contention and aggravation for people. In addition to giving up on his lawsuit against MLB and MLBPA, he is not going to spring training, as would be his right under the terms of his suspension. Whether it’s too late to mend fences and maybe — maybe — come back and play baseball again is an open question. But by ceasing to be a headache to MLB and the Yankees today, he’s taking at least a step in that direction.
