In today’s college football climate, it’s rare that a head coach really suffers much when he gets fired. Just ask former Arkansas head honcho Bret Bielema. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Bielema negotiated with Arkansas to take home $11.8 million in a buyout settlement. This is significantly more than the $5.8 million that had previously been reported he’d receive if he were fired as the head coach of Arkansas’ football program. It’s less, however, than the $15.4 million he had left on his contract.
