There are few things worse in the college football world than paying a small-time program major money to come beat you, but that’s what happened to Arkansas on Saturday.

The Razorbacks paid San Jose State $1.5 million to visit Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. Then the Spartans got out to a 24-7 lead and hung on for a 31-24 upset victory. The win made the Spartans 2-1 (they beat Northern Colorado and lost to Tulsa), while Arkansas is now 2-2 (they also lost to Ole Miss).
