It's usually a bad thing when a first-round pick, drafted at a position of need, hasn't cracked the starting lineup two weeks into training camp. The Cardinals, however, aren't worried about strong safety Deone Bucannon being second on the depth chart. That's because the man in front of him, Tony Jefferson, has played so well through the spring and summer. "Buc's going to have to earn it because Tony's not going to give it to him," Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. Jefferson seized the job in the offseason and likely will be in the starting lineup when the Cardinals open the regular season against the Chargers on Sept. 8. Just a year ago, Jefferson was trying to make the team as a rookie free agent out of Oklahoma.
