Anthony Davis has no shortage of confidence when it comes to his standing among his NBA peers, and it’s reasonable to agree to some extent that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is completely in the right in his assessment.

Davis recently declared in an interview that he views himself as the best basketball player on the planet, citing his unparalleled all-around game and ability to do things other players cannot as reasons why he has earned top-notch status in the league.

“I’m the best in the world,” Davis told Sports Illustrated’s Alam Abdeldaiem. “I think I do a lot of things that a lot of players can’t do as far as playing a complete game. I can play on the block, play on the perimeter, play defense on both ends, switch 1-5, guard, score the basketball. I want to be the most dominant player in the game, and I’m going to continue to do that.”

Davis made sure to stress how Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and perhaps most importantly, new teammate LeBron James, are all “great players, talented players, Hall of Famers,” and how they aspire to proclaim themselves as the greatest player, just like him.
