The New Orleans Pelicans might be forced to trade Anthony Davis by the end of the month because of a stipulation in his current contract.

According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, Davis has a 15 percent trade kicker, which is worth $4 million after July 1. It will likely be a major factor in the current negotiation for a Davis trade, as the trade kicker would significantly affect the salary matching aspect of a trade involving the Pelicans superstar.

The Pelicans have started listening to offers for Davis, who informed New Orleans earlier this year that he wants out of the franchise. As expected, the Los Angeles Lakers are aggressively pursuing Davis, while the Boston Celtics are also showing strong interest in arranging a trade with the Pelicans.
