Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy suffered a concussion and broken nose following his brutal collision at home plate with Jake Marisnick of the Astros on Sunday.

The backstop, in a text message to ESPN, said he is doing well and expects to leave the hospital sometime Monday.

Marisnick was on third with the bases loaded in a 10-10 ballgame when he attempted to score on a fly ball by George Springer to right field. The throw took Lucroy up the third-base line, where Marisnick was charging at full speed.

The two banged heads and Marisnick was called out for interference, a call that was upheld following a crew chief review. However, Lucroy lay still on the field for a few seconds before eventually sitting up and being carted off the field.
