The Minnesota Twins Twitter account broke news just now that lefty Andrew Vasquez has been called up to join the Twins in New York. Brandon Warne of Zone Coverage had some insider news earlier in the day, but the Twins have now made it official. Vasquez made nine appearances for the Twins last year as a September call-up and pitched decently, posting a 5.40 ERA in five innings. He allowed three earned runs and struck out seven while issuing two walks. The minor league season just got under way, but Vasquez has already pitched 1.1 innings in one game, allowing two hits, a walk, and striking out four for the Rochester Red Wings.
