Andre Brown says he finally feels fully recovered from the fractured left leg he suffered in the preseason, and he expects to return to action in Week 10, when the Giants face the Oakland Raiders. “That hasn’t changed,” Brown said Monday. “I’m still looking forward to coming back against the Raiders.” Brown has been on short-term injured reserve since the final week of the preseason, when he fractured his left leg in New England, an injury that left the Giants’ backfield in shambles. He is now eligible to be activated, although the Giants have a bye week this week. He said the injury was “very humbling,” especially since so much was expected from the tandem of Brown and David Wilson. Wilson has been out for a month with a neck injury, and Brown hasn’t played at all. He’s 100% healthy now, although he said he will wear a protective shin guard to prevent another similar injury “for the rest of my career.” It’s unknown how the Giants will reintegrate Brown. Tom Coughlin said he is “going to have to wait and see” when asked when Brown might return. The Giants relied on free agent signee Peyton Hillis the last two weeks, and veteran Brandon Jacobs, who broke out for two TDs in Chicago three weeks ago, seems ready to return from a hamstring injury. Jacobs admitted he doesn’t know “how it’ll work out,” or if he’ll even have a roster spot when Brown gets back.
