Matt Brown, former Temple running back and return specialist, is getting a chance with an NFL team…thanks to a passport mix-up. This marks one of the first times in history that an expired passport resulted in anything other than a massive freak out and days of stress and anger. What happened? Keith Pompey of Philly.com reports that two weeks ago Brown announced that he would be joining the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders. The 5’5”, 165-pound Brown was scheduled to fly to Saskatchewan on Tuesday to sign a contract, but he wasn’t able to board the flight because his passport was expired. On Wednesday, while Brown was trying to get his passport in order, his agent was contacted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who offered him a contract.
An NFL dream is made…thanks to an expired passport
