Nearly one month ago, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper was knocked unconscious by Denver Broncos safety Darian Stewart. He suffered a concussion and an ankle injury on the play, and the NFL fined Stewart $24,309 for the illegal hit. On Friday, Cooper finally addressed the hit speaking with the media. But his take on it might be different than you’d expect. Per Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Cooper said, “I felt like it was a fair hit. I guess he got flagged on that play, so I don’t know. Rules change.” Cooper missed the following game after that hit as he was still in the NFL concussion protocol. He returned in Week 14 but couldn’t finish the game due to his ankle injury flaring back up.
