As expected, the Ray Allen Sweepstakes has come down to the teams that have been front-runners from the beginning of this whole process: Boston and Miami. The Los Angeles Clippers no longer became a viable option when they elected to sign Jamal Crawford today, which reportedly led to them canceling Allen's upcoming visit. With the Celtics and the Heat still in the picture, everything depends on what Allen is seeking in a new deal. By returning to Boston, Allen could conceivably finish his career off playing with the same core group that won an NBA title in 2008. Although his role has changed since then -- he comes off the bench now -- the C's still view him as an integral part of their team moving forward. They were sure to say as much to Allen's representatives after coming to an agreement with free agent guard Jason Terry earlier this week.
