The Hammers' troubles in front of goal have been well documented in recent weeks and Allardyce is desperate to bring in at least one new striker when the transfer window re-opens next month. Recent reports have suggested Allardyce is keen on a reunion with Martins, who played under him during his ill-fated spell in charge of Newcastle in the 2007/08 season. Martins, 29, is currently on the books at Seattle Sounders and could be allowed to leave on a temporary basis during the MLS off-season. However, Allardyce says he knows nothing about a potential move for the Nigeria international.
