The FA are treating the incident as "non-standard" due to the "serious violent and/or aggressive nature" of the behaviour. Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his headbutt on Hull's David Meyler on Saturday. In the 72nd minute of the Premier League game, Pardew became involved in an altercation with Meyler in the technical area at the KC Stadium and pushed his head into the player's face. The FA has decided that the action amounted to improper conduct. Pardew has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
