Kadyn Proctor, a five-star offensive tackle, flipped his commitment from Iowa to Alabama, according to On3.com. Proctor, the highest-ranked recruit in the history of the state of Iowa, had been committed to the Hawkeyes since June. Here’s what you need to know:

Proctor is ranked No. 12 overall and is the No. 2 offensive tackle in the Class of 2023 in the 247Sports Composite.

Xavier Nwankpa, Proctor’s teammate at Southeast Polk High School in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, was a top-60 national prospect in the Class of 2022 who signed with Iowa over Ohio State and Notre Dame.

Iowa has signed seven five-star prospects in the modern recruiting era but only one since 2005 — defensive end A.J. Epenesa in the Class of 2017.
