Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre was named AL player of the month for September. It's the second consecutive season that Beltre has won AL player of the month for September. Nothing stopped Beltre last month, not even scar tissue in his abdomen or a left shoulder strain. Opposing pitchers had plenty of problems with him. He hit .337 with 11 homers and 19 RBIs. He added three doubles, a triple, 19 runs scored and six walks in 26 games. Beltre is just the fourth AL player to win the award in back-to-back Septembers, joining Eddie Murray (1980-81), Don Mattingly (1985-86) and Albert Belle (1998-99). He's the second Ranger to win an AL player of the month award this season, joining Josh Hamilton, who won the honor in April and May.
