AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has confirmed the Serie A club are weighing up a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Spain international’s existing deal expires in the summer but current Blues manager Maurizio Sarri wants the club to give him a new package.

However, Chelsea’s policy over only offering over 30’s one-year extensions could be a stumbling block as Fabregas looks to secure a more long-term contract.

The-31-year-old is free to begin negotiating with foreign sides over signing a pre-contract agreement in new year, with Milan touted as potential destination.
