The Nuggets and forward Aaron Gordon are both hopeful to be able to reach an agreement on a contract extension, possibly as early as this week, sources inform Mike Singer of the Denver Post. Gordon, 25, could maximally qualify for a four-year, $88MM extension of his extant four-year, $80MM deal, which expires after the 2021/22 season.

Denver is apparently not quite looking to ink the 25-year-old to a full maximum extension, Singer indicates. Instead, the club hopes to secure an agreement that pays in the range of $20-21MM annually for two or three years.
