As Anthony Richardson backflipped into the college football consciousness early this season, 247Sports solicited tales of his athletic feats from a few people who know him well.

Richardson was easily throwing down dunks as an eighth grader. His high school basketball coach, Herman Williams, said he’s never had a player dunk more than Richardson. There was his football varsity debut at Gainesville Eastside (Fla.) High when a ninth-grade Richardson made a leaping, Odell Beckham-like grab between a trio of defenders.

Richardson produced a 122.61 SPARQ score at The Opening Finals in 2019, which by the unofficial count of Elite 11 President Brian Stumpf is the fourth-best total by a quarterback ever. This is despite never training for things like the 40-yard dash (4.5 seconds) and 20-yard shuttle (4.37).
