One year ago Travis Zajac's future was clouded after suffering a torn left Achilles tendon while working out at home in the offseason. So when the Devils center began to work out this past offseason, he was careful. "I started off a little cautious but as I progressed I worked even harder and trained even harder," said Zajac, among those players who voluntarily report for physicals today at the Prudential Center. "I'm pretty happy where I'm at right now." One-hundred percent healthy. "Everything is great. No problems with anything," Zajac said enthusiastically. Zajac played only 15 games all of last season, first returning on Dec. 16 before realizing his Achilles wasn't ready for the grind of the NHL. He stopped skating, worked his way back slowly and then returned to play the final seven games of the season.
A healthy Travis Zajac is ready for intense 48-game season
