As Cole Hamels walked off the mound Saturday evening, he tipped his hat to the crowd that was giving him a standing ovation. "The crowd knows you gave it all you had," Hamels said. "That's where you kind of justify saying thank you." And maybe, just maybe, Hamels also was saying good-bye to the only fans he's ever known. The left-hander, who stands to be a free agent at the end of the season, could be shipped off before the July 31 trade deadline if he doesn't first sign a contract extension with Philadelphia, which drafted him with their first pick in the 2002 draft.
