When Maurice Washington scored three touchdowns in the Under Armour All-America Game en route to MVP honors, Aveion Cason, his head coach at Trinity Christian Academy in Cedar Hill, Texas, admitted he made a lot of noise in his living room. Cason expects to do that again when Washington scores his first touchdown as a Nebraska Cornhusker, the school he signed with on Wednesday afternoon. The pure joy of seeing Washington's success comes from knowing where Washington has been and where he comes from. Cason said his star running back's father passed away at an early age. His grandfather, who raised Washington, passed away just before his junior year. It was a junior year Washington would miss after transferring from The King's Academy in Sunnyvale, California to Oak Grove High in Oak Grove, California. That is when he made the move to Texas and Trinity Christian Academy and found the mentorship he needed from Cason and offensive coordinator Deion Sanders.
