The recruitment of 4-star wing Landers Nolley II has been an interesting one over the last week or so, with the 6-7 prospect verbally committing to Georgia only to change his mind the following day. Sunday evening Nolley announced that he has decided to play his college basketball in the ACC, with Virginia Tech receiving his verbal pledge. Nolley is Virginia Tech’s second verbal commitment in the Class of 2018, as he joins 6-3 shooting guard Jarren McAllister. With two of Virginia Tech’s three seniors entering the 2017-18 season being true perimeter players in Devin Wilson and Justin Bibbs, adding more depth in that area was a key with regards to the 2018 class. And in Nolley II, the Hokies have a wing with size who can knock down perimeter shots at a solid clip.
