Jon Baldwin, the No. 26 overall pick by the Chiefs in 2011, was waived by the 49ers on Sunday. And if he couldn't make it through the first two weeks of an NFL training camp without getting cut, you have to wonder if he really has a place in the NFL at this point in his career. Baldwin combined for 41 catches and two touchdowns in 26 games during his only two seasons in Kansas City, and in August 2013, the disgruntled Baldwin was traded to the 49ers for former first-round San Francisco pick A.J. Jenkins. But Baldwin didn't impress with the 49ers in 2013, making three catches for 28 yards in seven games, and apparently, he was having a subpar training camp in 2014.
