North Carolina Tar Heels third baseman Colin Moran has been chose by the Miami Marlins with the No. 6 pick in the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft. Moran is considered one of the safest picks in the draft, as most expect the third baseman to reach the major leagues and contribute as a solid regular. He possess a good eye at the plate, has good bat speed, and is willing to work the count and hit to all fields. The third baseman is not considered a great defender, but should not be a liability in the field either. The Tar Heels are the No. 1 overall seed in the 2013 NCAA Baseball Tournament. North Carolina still needs to win their super-regional matchup, but there is a good chance that Marlins fans can watch Moran play in Omaha next week. The third baseman does have the option to return for his senior season, but is not considered a difficult sign.
