The 2021-22 NBA season has gotten off to a rocky start for the Indiana Pacers. They are currently 1-4 as they have been unable to take advantage of the opportunities that were presented to them.

Indiana opened up a 23-point lead on opening night against the Charlotte Hornets but ended up losing by one. In their next game, they seemed to be catching a break playing against the Washington Wizards, who were without Bradley Beal.

Myles Turner poured in 40 points and they still lost by one point in overtime. They were able to defeat the Miami Heat in overtime but lost to the shorthanded Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors after that.

The organization was hopeful that the one-year playoff absence under Nate Bjorkgren was an outlier. Rick Carlisle was brought in to help steady the ship, but they seemingly remain off course.

Caris LeVert has been sidelined as he recovers from his back ailment, but this team looks like it needs some changes. There has been a lot of discussion about them splitting up the jumbo frontcourt pairing of Turner and Domantas Sabonis. Could that occur, but with Sabonis on the move?

Turner has been the topic of discussion, but Sabonis, a two-time All-Star, would probably bring back a better package. Here are three teams that should try and trade for Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers.

3. Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers could be considered the Indiana Pacers of the Western Conference. They are both steady teams that are perennial playoff contenders, but when it comes to making some noise in the postseason, they fall short.

Portland has been eliminated in the first round of the postseason in four out of the last five years. Indiana hasn’t advanced beyond the first round since 2014. Both teams could use a shakeup and could match up on a deal.
