After months of everyone assuming that Kyle Lowry would leave the Toronto Raptors, those assumptions turned into reality with Lowry joining the Miami Heat via sign-and-trade. This became an apparent reality even prior to the official start of NBA free agency.
Amid the speculation of Lowry’s departure from the Raptors, there were murmurs of a possible trade involving Pascal Siakam.
Even though Siakam is still with the team after the 2021 NBA Draft and early in free agency, he could still be headed elsewhere if Toronto receives an offer they can’t refuse.
Despite once being a player who was receiving tons of hype, Siakam has now become an underrated player in the NBA. He is just a few seasons removed from being the No. 2 scoring option on a championship team
Not many forwards, especially ones that can play power forward or small forward, can handle the ball like Siakam and score in an assortment of ways. With Toronto adding Scottie Barnes in the draft, and the presence of OG Anunoby, Siakam’s future with the organization is up in the air.
With Pascal Siakam potentially available for the right price, here are three teams that should consider making a push to acquire him this offseason.
The Denver Nuggets are one of those teams in the NBA that seem just one or two pieces away from being a legitimate contender in the league.
Nikola Jokic is the reigning MVP in the NBA, and Jamal Murray continues to blossom into a fine point guard, but Murray won’t be available to start next season.
Seeing that this Nuggets team has been hesitant to commit to Michael Porter Jr. up to this point, making a move for Siakam could be in the cards.
