Unrestricted free-agent Filip Forsberg is coming off a career-best offensive showing consisting of 42 goals and 42 assists.

The 27-year-old Swede is also a proven possession driver with a career 4.1 Relative Corsi For percentage at even strength and a 52.9 CF% over the past three years when adjusted for score and venue.

He’s one of the prized scorers in this year’s UFA class, and he’ll bolster any offense in the league.

Here are 3 potential landing spots for Forsberg if he fails to re-sign in Nashville.

Carolina Hurricanes

Let’s face it, this is a match made in heaven … or Scandinavia.

The Hurricanes have four Finns and fellow Swede Jesper Fast under contract for next season, and Forsberg is another versatile winger to boost an already potent top-six group.

While Carolina has the cap space to make a splash, the ‘Canes also have in-house decisions.

Center Vincent Trocheck and winger Nino Niederreiter are UFAs, and restricted free-agent winger Martin Necas is also a priority for the team.

Defenseman Tony DeAngelo is also eyeing a raise after quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit and piling up 51 points across 64 games on a $1 million, prove-it salary. He’s also an RFA.

Still, if the Carolina brass prioritize Forsberg and kick the tires, it could prove to be an ideal fit for the 27-year-old winger and the reigning Metropolitan Division champions.
