The NBA Draft is not just a time to introduce new faces into the league, but it is also a time in which we see plenty of high-level talents on the move to new teams.
Whether they look to move up or down in the draft, teams are always looking to move some players around and this year will be no different.
Stars in the league like Ben Simmons, Bradley Beal, Pascal Siakam and others have all been linked to trade rumors over the last month and with the NBA Draft tomorrow, some of these guys could very well end up being on the move.
This year’s draft class is very top-heavy, with the Top 5-6 players all being All-Star potential type of prospects, but the rest of this year’s draft class is pretty deep.
There are plenty of guys who are ready to contribute to their new team from Day 1 in the league, which is why teams could be looking to acquire more first-round picks at the expense of notable players.
So what trades could we possibly see Thursday night during the draft? Let’s take a look at three intriguing trade scenarios every NBA fan would like to see during the 2021 NBA Draft.
Golden State Warriors Receive: F Pascal Siakam, TOR 2021 1st Round Pick (Pick #4)
Toronto Raptors Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, F Eric Paschall, MIN 2021 1st Round Pick (Pick #7), GSW 2021 1st Round Pick (Pick #14), GSW 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-5 Protected), GSW 2022 2nd Round Pick
The Golden State Warriors have missed the playoffs for back-to-back seasons now due to key injuries negatively impacting their roster, Klay Thompson has not played in a game since the 2019 NBA Finals and several other key talents have also missed time throughout the years.
Now, hopefully everybody will remain healthy for the Warriors’ sake as they look to get back to being true championship contenders. With Steph, Klay and Draymond, as well as Wiggins and Wiseman in their starting rotation, the Warriors definitely have a chance to be great once again, but they seem to be missing that one extra contributor on their roster.
Pascal Siakam has been rumored to be a guy Golden State is interested in adding and they could finally look to do so on draft night. Who knows what Toronto’s thought process is heading into the 2021 NBA Draft, but they could potentially look to leverage Siakam and their 4th overall selection to gain a ton of value from the Warriors.
