The postseason is still playing around the league, but it is never too early to take a look at the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft.
One intriguing prospect that continues to climb up draft boards is Wisconsin guard Johnny Davis.
The Badger was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and an All-American after averaging 19.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He took major steps at the point guard position for Wisconsin, which exceeded all expectations during the regular season.
The play of Davis was the main reason why Wisconsin found themselves near the top of the rankings this season.
Davis brought many tools to the table this season. He showed an ability to score at all three levels but also finish with contact and get to the free throw line. He is a hard-nose player that competes well on both ends of the floor.
At 6-foot-5, Davis has great size coming into the league and this brings versatility. He can play either guard position and be a promising talent at the next level.
Johnny Davis continues to rise in mock drafts and is now projected to go in the top 10. Here are three teams that could snag Davis in the draft and not allow him to fall into the middle of the round.
The Sacramento Kings might not be an ideal destination for a young player but the front office is slowly trying to build something.
This can be done by nailing a top-10 draft pick this year. If Johnny Davis is on the board, he is not the worst option to pair in the backcourt with De’Aaron Fox, who should stick around now that the Kings made a deal for Domantas Sabonis.
