It feels like questions began surrounding NBA superstar Zion Williamson’s relationship with the New Orleans Pelicans from the moment they drafted him. Somehow, they haven’t stopped since.

In some ways, the Pelicans’ success this year did little to silence them. After making a postseason run in Williamson’s absence, a new question has emerged:

Does this team even need him?

In all likelihood, they won’t look to move him unless he demands a trade. His ceiling remains limitless. On the other hand, moving on could be justified from the Pelicans’ side. His availability remains an ongoing concern. It’s difficult to be confident that he’ll ever be unburdened by health concerns. If the Pelicans moved on now, they may be able to sell high.

Like, really high. Somebody will be willing to take a big swing on a player who averaged 27.0 points per game on a 64.5 True Shooting % (TS%) over 61 games in 2020-21.

In case the front office is entertaining the option, here are three Zion Williamson trades we’d love to see this summer.

New Orleans Pelicans Receive: F Julius Randle, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 11 – NYK), 2023 First-Round Pick (Swap – NYK), 2024 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2025 First-Round Pick (Swap – NYK), 2026 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2027 First-Round Pick (Swap – NYK)

New York Knicks receive: F Zion Williamson, G Devonte’ Graham
