Manchester United have submitted a €30million (£27million) bid for Juventus winger Douglas Costa, according to a report.

Recent speculation indicated that Costa’s representatives have already talked with United about a deal. The agents held the discussions on behalf of a Juventus side keen to see the Brazilian leave.

Costa has also emerged as an alternative for United to Jadon Sancho. Borussia Dortmund are unwilling to lower their £108million valuation of the England international winger.

According to Corrierre dello Sport (via Sport Witness), United have instead stepped up their interest in 29-year-old Costa.

The Red Devils have submitted their opening offer – worth £27million – which Juve feel is too low.

Nevertheless, Gazzetta dello Sport adds that there is reportedly a “real satisfaction” from inside Old Trafford about signing Costa. Indeed, that is despite the winger’s consistent injury problems throughout his career.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have reportedly held a long-term interest in Costa, who has scored only 10 goals for Juve since his move from Bayern Munich in 2018.

However, United also have Costa’s teammate Federico Bernadeschi on their radar. Previous reports have also touted the likes of Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa as a target at Old Trafford.
