As always, injuries play a big role in the NFL and this week’s Players to Watch list includes players who are suddenly looking at bigger opportunities in Week 2.

Week 1 also brought some roles into a clearer picture. Sometimes the running back by committee is not such a committee after all.

Here are 10 Players to Watch for Week 2 of the NFL season:

Jeff Wilson Jr.

Starter Elijah Mitchell is likely to miss a couple of months with a knee injury and while the 49ers are looking at veteran free agent running backs, Wilson is the next man up on the San Francisco depth chart.

The fifth year back had a modest 22 yards on nine carries in Week 1, but has averaged 4.2 yards per carry, scoring 17 touchdowns in 37 career games. Wilson goes against a Seattle defense that allowed 103 yards on 20 carries in a Week 1 win against Denver.

Touchdown Scorer Prop: +130 at DraftKings, +110 at FanDuel, -112 at Caesars

Rushing Yards Prop: 51.5 at DraftKings, Caesars, and BetMGM

Darrell Henderson Jr.

In the preseason there was a lot of excitement about the Rams having Cam Akers for a full season, but they started the season with Henderson getting the bulk of the touches out of the backfield, gaining 73 yards on 18 touches.

The Rams face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, after the Falcons gave up 151 rushing yards on 19 carries in Week 1.

Touchdown Scorer Prop: +115 at DraftKings, +104 at Caesars, -125 at FanDuel

Rushing Yards Prop: 59.5 at DraftKings, Caesars, and BetMGM

Jared Goff

Even though the Lions quarterback passed for a modest 215 yards on 37 throws against Philadelphia in Week 1, he has a good opportunity for a productive Week 2, going against the Washington Commanders.

The Commanders allowed 275 passing yards against Jacksonville in Week 1, so Goff and the Lions could put up some numbers.

Passing Yards Prop: 233.5 (Over is -115 at DraftKings, -115 at Caesars, and BetMGM)

Touchdown Passes Prop: 1.5 (Over is -120 at DraftKings and BetMGM, -125 at Caesars)
