Tyler Clippard wore a White Sox jersey Sunday afternoon. By Sunday night, the reliever's Twitter bio, which featured a picture of him in a Yankees uniform, stated he plays for the Astros. Clippard's Instagram account stated the same, and not long after, the Sox announced they had traded Clippard to the Astros for a player to be named or cash. The Sox acquired Clippard on July 19 in the trade that sent relievers David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle and third baseman Todd Frazier to the Yankees. The 11th-year veteran is 2-6 with a 4.27 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 461/3 innings with the Sox and Yankees this year.
