Florida Panthers center Vincent Trocheck returned to practice on Wednesday morning after a three-day Christmas break helped him heal after blocking a shot on Saturday night. Trocheck centered linemates Evgenii Dadonov and Denis Malgin on the second line on Wednesday, and Panthers coach Bob Boughner said Trocheck would not be limited for Thursday’s game against Philadelphia. Trocheck missed the final 7:32 of the third period of Florida’s 1-0 win over Ottawa after taking a shot in the ribs. Subsequent x-rays were negative. “He’s left the ice a few times this year where you’re worried and see what’s going to happen,” Boughner said. “The tests came back negative. He’s that guy. He just keeps going. He’s a warrior and it’s great that he had good news. He’s a big part of what we’re doing here.” Trocheck missed part of Florida’s win over Winnipeg on Dec. 7 after a high hit and had a minor scare after the preseason’s first game.
