Another day, another Washington Redskins player placed on injured reserve. The team announced Saturday afternoon that running back LeShun Daniels’s season is officially over after he suffered a freak injury this week in practice. “He was fielding a kickoff and it bounced, and he went to pick the ball up and broke his hand,” Coach Jay Gruden explained Friday, two days before Washington (6-8) faces the Denver Broncos (5-9) at FedEx Field. Daniels is now the fifth — yes, fifth — running back on IR for the Redskins, who also lost Rob Kelley, Chris Thompson, Keith Marshall and Byron Marshall to injury. In a corresponding move, the Redskins signed Kenny Hilliard to the active roster. Washington placed veteran left tackle Trent Williams (knee) on injured reserve Friday and signed running back Dare Ogunbowale off their practice squad. With Ogunbowale and now Hilliard, the Redskins have four running backs at their disposal against Denver, including former Broncos player Kapri Bibbs.
