New Raiders tight end Jared Cook has worn the number 89 throughout his NFL career. That’s the same number as Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper. Cook was asked during his introductory conference call just how attached he is to that number? “I don’t know,” he said. “Me and (Cooper) are going to have to have a little conversation to see if I can get it off of him. Might have to bribe him a little bit, throw him like five bucks or something. We’ll see if I can get it off his back.” Cooper might not be all that attached to his own number. He wore No. 9 in college, then initially took 19 when he was drafted and introduced by the Raiders. A short while later, he made the switch to the now familiar 89. There are more than a fair share of Cooper jerseys anywhere you go with Raiders fans in attendance.
