It’s been a rough few months for Tua Tagovailoa. The former Alabama quarterback’s junior season was prematurely ended with a hip injury that required surgery last November.
That put a wrench in Tagovailoa’s pre-draft plans, which were mostly pushed aside as he focused on recovering from surgery. And just when he was beginning to get clearance from his doctors to resume football-related activities, the coronavirus pandemic has prevented teams from visiting him for private workouts.
But that has not deterred Tagovailoa, who posted a 10-second video to social media last week that showed him taking drop backs and moving around an imaginary pocket. It was his message to NFL coaches, general managers and doctors that he is progressing well with his rehab.
