Lightning defenseman Sami Salo was on crutches and his left foot in a walking boot after Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Flyers. He likely will have an MRI exam to determine the extent of the injury. Tampa Bay dodged a bigger bullet when defenseman Victor Hedman apparently survived without negative consequences a shoulder hit to the head from Scott Hartnell with 4:51 left in the third period. "I didn't see it coming," Hedman said. Hartnell clobbered Hedman with a solid shot to the right side of his face and received two minutes for an illegal hit to the head. The league will review the hit for supplemental discipline. Hedman — "scared and frustrated" because he has had at least one concussion and a neck issue — threw his stick across the ice in anger and went to the trainers room. "You can't take away the physical part of the game," Hedman said. "That's part of the game that makes it so exciting to gain momentum. But, obviously, when something like that happens, it's frustrating."
