The Rangers placed outfielder Joey Gallo on the injured list with a left oblique strain on Sunday. In a corresponding move, the club called up Delino DeShields

Gallo left Texas' 6-2 win over the Royals in the fifth inning with tightness in his left oblique on Saturday. Gallo missed Wednesday’s game in Seattle with a sore right wrist but started the next three games against the Royals. He hit a home run on Friday night and again on Saturday. He is now hitting .276 with 17 home runs, 41 RBIs and a .653 slugging percentage on the season.
