The Jets have signed seventh-year cornerback Marcus Cooper and waived TE Nick Truesdell.

Cooper (6'2", 197) is a product of football in Northeast, having played his high school ball in Bloomfield, CT, where he set school career marks in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, and his college ball for Rutgers.

He was a seventh-round selection of San Francisco (252nd overall out of 254 picks that year) in the 2013 draft. The 49ers made him a final cut that fall.

He proceeded to play for Kansas City for three seasons and made stops with Arizona — he had a career-high four interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, for the Cardinals in 2016 — Chicago and the final four games of last season with Detroit.
