Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane has failed his physical with the Houston Texans, according to multiple reports out of Houston and NFL media, and will no longer be included in a trade for left tackle Duane Brown. Instead, the Seahawks will also get a 2018 fifth-round pick (presumably the one it had been sending to Houston) but will now also send a 2018 third-round pick to Houston as well as a 2019 second-rounder to make it work. Essentially, Seattle is upgrading the 2018 pick it was to send to Houston from a fifth to a third in place of giving Lane to the Texans. That, though, obviously creates the oddity of Lane remaining with Seattle and the Seahawks also having to find room on the roster for Brown — the Seahawks would now have 54 players on their active roster.
Jeremy Lane fails physical, but Duane Brown trade still on as teams add draft picks to mix instead
