Former Steelers linebacker James Harrison on Friday made his first public appearance in Pittsburgh since the team released him in December and he joined the New England Patriots. Harrison attended the “Shear Da Beard” charity event hosted by former Steelers defensive lineman Brett Keisel at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille in Marshall. All proceeds from the event support the cancer programs at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Fans cheered Harrison, the Steelers all-time sacks leader, as he walked on stage to shave off part of Keisel’s beard. Harrison didn’t say anything before he left the stage. Days after his release from Pittsburgh, Harrison signed with the Patriots, the team that many saw as the biggest obstacle for the Steelers to get to the Super Bowl.
