Jack Hoiberg, the son of Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg, announced Saturday night that he has committed to play for Michigan State’s basketball team. Currently a senior at Chicago Hinsdale Central, Hoiberg will be a preferred walk-on in East Lansing. That means the Spartans don’t have to use up a scholarship, which is especially important since Tom Izzo & Co. are still in the race for prized San Diego Cathedral Catholic center Brandon McCoy, a 5-star prospect and Top-10 player in the Class of 2017, per 247Sports.
