The Twitter account for Aguilas Cibaenas, a team in the Dominican Winter League, announced a deal with Pirates third baseman Jung Ho Kang Tuesday. It is unclear if this means Kang has acquired a visa to play in the Dominican Republic. “We know we have a club that will play him, provided we can get him into the country,” Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said Sunday. “That will make up for some of his lost at-bats this summer and put him in a position where if we’re able to secure a visa for him this offseason, he won’t have been 18 months without playing competitively. In our minds, this is the best level of competition we could get him in the offseason.”
