The Broncos re-signed defensive lineman Billy Winn on Monday. He has not played since sustaining a knee injury in the team’s 2017 preseason opener.
The Broncos also signed offensive lineman Jake Rodgers and defensive lineman Mike Purcell, both of whom participated in last week’s minicamp as tryout players.
Winn, 30, played every game for the Broncos in 2016 (19 tackles). He re-signed in May 2017, but his season ended when he tore his right ACL along with other damage against the Chicago Bears.
The Broncos are thin at nose tackle after not re-signing veteran Domata Peko, the starter in 2017-18. Shelby Harris returned on a one-year restricted free agent tender, but there is no experience behind him. Winn is listed at 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds. Purcell is also expected to work at nose tackle.
