2019-20 was not an ideal year for the Arsenal left side of defense. First, the club let Nacho Monreal leave at the start of the year, while the defensive line and depth remained up in the air. Sead Kolasinac was sidelined at the start after the altercation with attackers outside of Mesut Ozil’s vehicle, and has been on and off the injury list.

Kieran Tierney was brought in as the hopeful future of the position. Something he could still become, but Tierney joined the club with an injury and has been plagued with more setbacks all season. So the club turned to young left winger Bukayo Saka to fill in. He has proven to be up to the task and quite often has provided extra attacking threat down that flank. But imagine what the club could look like with a proper left side of the defense behind Saka, returning to his natural position.
