Before the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens battled in the Eastern Conference Finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon and the Montreal Canadiens made a series wager on Twitter. The Rangers won and Habs' mascot Youppi! had to pay the piper.

Here is video of the full monologue from Monday night's episode of "The Tonight Show featuring Jimmy Fallon". The Youppi! stuff starts near the 1:00 mark of the video but the Donald Sterling joke leading up to it is pretty good, too.

This may be naively Canadian of me, but I'm shocked the Fallon didn't know who Youppie! is. When that thing (whatever it is) was the mascot for the Montreal Expos I was under the impression that Youppie! was one of the biggest names in the mascot game...right up there with the Philly Phanatic and the San Diego Chicken.

I guess, perhaps, Youppi! is only a Canadian thing. I feel cheated...
