If you ever thought it was a good idea to tie your shoe in the middle of a game while you’re dribbling the ball up the court - don’t. Northwestern point guard Ashley Deary learned this lesson the hard way so you don’t have to.

On Thursday night, she was dribbling up the court with the ball when she leaned over to strap up her laces.

And exactly what you would expect to happen happened.

Rutgers guard Khadaizha Sanders noticed the ball bouncing with Deary tying her laces, so she came running in top speed and stole the ball. Sanders then dumped the ball off for guard Shrita Parker for a lay up.

Those two points didn't effect the outcome of the game as the Scarlet Knights were blown out 60–38, dropping them to 6–22 on the season. Deary made up for the mistake by scoring five points and dishing out eight assists in the victory. I bet you’ll never Deary attempt to tie her shoe while dribbling up the court ever again.
